Condolences
One year when our children were in High School, Dr. Bond's daughter, Linda, and my daughter Julie, went on a vacation together. Dr. Bond took them to Tennessee for a week. The girls enjoyed the vacation so much! I am so glad Dr. Bond did that.

I knew Dr. Bond as an affable, engaged father of my college roommate, his son Bob. Dr. Bond would come up to Purdue on occason and would always be friendly and funny. I always enjoyed talking with him. I knew he was close with his children.

Dr. Bond was he most influential person in my Fellowship during my training at Indiana University Medical School in the Hematology department from 1963 to 1965. From him I not only learned the science of the field in which we both practiced but the kindness and caring that he felt and expressed in caring for patients with a dread disease process. He had an encyclopedic mind and memory and always had time to discuss patient care with us. We later had the privilege of having him as part of our private practice group after he left the University. He worked with us to age 83 where he was most respected and knowledgable member of the group. He enjoyed his patients to whom he was dedicated and he had a great sense of humor as well. He was indeed an oustanding person as well as a great physician.

I worked for Dr. Bond and Dr. Rohn my first job out of Med. Tech school at IU.
Dr. Bond then came back into my work life many years later when he joined our Oncology group. He was such a kind and gentle man. He was also a very generous teacher and I learned a lot from him.
Please know that he was valued and loved in the medical community.

I had the pleasure of getting to meet Dr. Bond at American Village. He will be miss so much as he was a part of my family. Love you always, until we meet again. And I send out my condolence to his children who visited him faithly and was there for him always.
