Obituary of Margaret Welsh

Margaret Rose Welsh Born to Shirley and Lyman McDade on August 30th 1923. Known to most as Peggy, Aunt Mud, Grandma, and Mom to my my 2 brothers, our sister and myself. She grew up in Michigan with her 2 sisters. Lola, June and their little brother Victor, or as some know him Bud. This is where she learned the true meaning of FAMILY. The family made their way to Indiana in 1940. She graduated from St. Agnes Academy in 1942. This is where she meet our father, Charles. They married February 11th, 1943. The 2 of them had 5 children together. Starting with Chuck, Joe, Victor. Who we lost at the young age of 2. Myself, and our sister Margaret. Mom also had: 8 Grand Children, Debbie Welsh, Chris Flynn, Chuckie Welsh, Wendy Elliott, Jody Mulholland, David Welsh, Kati Young and Austin Lowery. 14 Great Children: Brittany Chastain, Tyler Flynn, Cory Flynn, Addison Elliott, Madeline Mulholland, Olivia Mulholland, Arin Welsh, Blake Welsh, Chase Welsh, Sam Welsh, Sophie Welsh and Landen Young. And 1 Great Great Grand Child: Bella Chastain. With that many names to remember, I can understand why she would go thru 2-3 names before she got the right one. There's a lot of words that can describe Mom: loving, caring, passionate, daring, strong. A great cook, she loved to bake. She was fun, playful, bull headed, stubborn. But also a soft and giving woman. I know one of the things she loved the best was having all of her family together. If it was out on Lake Monroe, fishing off Chuck's pontoon boat. Family vacation's in Florida, Easter, Thanks Giving. Where she took pride in her turkey and dressing. But I think she enjoyed Christmas most. Mom also had a love for water. She loved the lakes of Michigan, the ocean. But most of ll she loved water fights. There's way to many stories to go through them. She would never admit it, but she was the main instigator of most of them. Mom also loved flowers and gardening. Every spring Daffodils and Tulips would start the parade of beautiful colors through out her yard. Summer time all her roses are in full bloom. In the fall, all the colorful Mums. She nurtured her family, the same way she nurtured her flower gardens. She started small and it's blossomed to where we are today. In the end, she was surrounded with her loved ones by her side. We are here today to morn together, laugh and cry together. But most of all we are here celebrate and celebrate we will. We will celebrate the wonderful life she had, and everything she has bestowed upon us.
