Condolences
Thank you for being one of our very special friends. The memories of all the good times through the years will not be forgotten.
God gave her a kind and generous heart that spread love and happiness to everyone she met.
We love you and Bruce and will keep you in our prayers.
Glenn, Leah and Rhonda
I knew Dorothy from Eagledale and then Crosspointe Baptist Church. I always remember Dorothy's big smile. She smiled even when she was not feeling well in recent years. I always admired her compassionate heart especially for children. My heart and prayers are with Bruce and her family. We will miss Dorothy but it is comforting to know that she is now with Jesus and no longer in pain or afraid. Praise the Lord for the HOPE we have in Him! Annette Johnson
Hi Queenie, We have enough fond memories to write a book! We remember how you and Bruce scared us on our first Halloween on the Westside. We remember our road trip to Dallas looking like the Beverly Hillbillies, sitting on lawn chairs. We'll miss you so much!! Helen & Putsy
Bruce & family, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mrs. Johnson. Condolences to all of you. I have such sweet memories of her faithfulness in service to The Lord. I am so glad that we will see her again in just a little while! Praying that God will give you peace during this difficult time.
Bruce and family...I am so sorry for your loss, and pray that you will be comforted by the sweet Spirit of our Lord. Knowing that she is now with her Heavenly Father is of great comfort to us. We here, are left on earth to carry on but blessed to have such sweet memories of Dorothy. Always the sweetest smile, and the calmest spirit, and calm resolve to carry on. Dorothy was amazing with a sweet determined resolve through thick or thin. She was a sweet treasure, faithful servant, loving mother, and beloved wife. I count it joy to have known her and the sweet family she helped raise. Dorothy was a true Proverbs 31 woman and daughter of God... 28) Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. 29) Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. Until we meet again Dorothy!
I have known Dorthy and Bruce for over 30 years. First through Eagledale Baptist Church, then Open Door Christian School, and later as just a dear friend. I remember when my first son, Dale, was in highschool 25+ years ago and I didn't want him to go to a public highschool, as the one near us was so awful. I talked to Dorothy about she and Bruce possibly being a "ward" for Dale so he could attend Speedway Highschool for all 4 of his highschool years. Without hesitation they said "yes". So, Dale got to attend and graduate from Speedway High School and because of that and his training in their vocational program, he paints and repairs Formula 1 cars, Indy cars, sprint cars, etc, for teams all over the US and world. The opportunity for Dale to learn this trade would have been impossible had he not attended Speedway High School. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Another wonderful memory - my three younger sons, Dustin, Danny and David, had Dorothy as a pre-school teacher at Open Door Christian School. She loved my boys and did I ever know it! She loved all children! I'm so thankful my boys were under her loving care and guidance while they were little! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
I am so looking forward to visitng with Dorothy in Heaven some day. It will be a wonderful reunion! We will miss you, Dorothy...you were a wonderful person and your friends and family will never forget your incredible generousity and spirit!
my condolence to you Bruce and all of your family. God bless you all.
I worked with Dorothy for three years at Open Door Christian School. I looked up to her as an example of how she lovingly dealt with the children.
Our thoughts & prayers with Bruce & family during this difficult time. Dorothy's smile will always be remembered by the people from Eagledale.
Dear Brother Bruce and Boys, I regret I cannot be with you during this time, but be assured my heart is there, and especially my prayers and love! I have written a Tribute to Dorothy that Pastor Dan will read in my absence at her memorial service. Dolly and I have precious memories of Dorothy. We are so thankful for her faithful testimony down through the years at Eagledale/Crosspointe. Her life was quiet but powerful, her smile so contagious, her spirit so affable! What a privilege to be her pastor. You and all of yours are loved during this time, Pastor Arrowood - (Sent from Yangon, Myanmar)
