Obituary of William Keeker

WILLIAM EARL KEEKER, 81, of Indianapolis passed away December 22, 2012. He was born December 3, 1931 in Indianapolis to the late Earl and Phyllis Keeker. Bill retired from the Veterans Administration after 32 years service as Personnel Officer. He was a retired Captain from the United States Air Force and a member of the American Legion. Bill was a caring and generous man and a true and loyal friend. He was a parent who allowed his children to grow intellectually and develop their independence and self-worth. As a husband he was simply the best. Bill bowled every day. He was also an avid golfer - golfing every day barring tornadoes and blizzards. He especially enjoyed spending time with his golfing and bowling cronies placing bets on just about every conceivable outcome. He enjoyed spending time with his wife and with his children and grandchildren. He thoroughly enjoyed doing the daily crossword puzzle in the U.S.A. Today and going to the casino. He was a curmudgeon and his favorite saying during any election was "reelect no one". Bill is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Yvonne Rivers; children, Greg, Jamie, and Susan; stepson, Gary Rivers (Bobbi); four grandchildren Emily (Jason) Kinley, Matthew (Allison) Keeker, Ryan and Daniel Puckett and four great grandchildren (Oliver, Isobel, Jonathan, and Madelyn Kinley). He is also survived by his former wife, Marianne (Robert) Froderman, the mother of his children. He was preceded in death by one brother Robert Earl Keeker. The family wishes to extend its gratitude to the nurses and staff of the fourth floor St. Vincent Hospital and the St. Vincent Hospice. The family will also forever remember the kindness and compassion of the Stevens Funeral Home during its time of loss.
