Condolences
I join friends and family in respect for and appreciation of the life and contributions of Mr. Horlander.
Carol - may God keep you and your family strong during this difficult time. Our prayers are with you -
We were shocked and so sorry to hear of your loss. Bob was one of our favorite people. He always made us laugh and supported us a great deal in our early goings. Our prayers go out for all of you at this sad time. May Bob rest in peace.
Bob and Carol Horlander were two of our favorite people. We had only known Bob for a few winters when he and Carol were in Florida. Bob was an intelligent, pleasant person who had a great sense of humor. We enjoyed his stories about flying all over the world for many years. He was fun to be with. The world and we will miss him. Our best to Carol. Jack and Norma Welsh
Carol, Bob is a person that, once you meet them, you never forget. You two have provided us with some of our fondest memories here at Olde Hickory. God bless you both. Faye and Jim Vogt
Carol, Our thoughts and prayers are with you. What a great guy to have as a friend! I enjoyed listening to his Marine Corps anecdotes. He is joining Marines that passed before him and I'm sure he'll join them in guarding Heaven's streets.
Bob was one of the best to fly with, I always had a great trip when I flew with him. We'll miss you.
Saddened to hear of the loss, uncle Bob was one of the finest men I truly have ever met, will see you all on Tuesday, love you all!
In 1965 I flew with Bob at Lake Central. Braniff was hiring and I asked Bob if he thought I should apply. He said " Yes, definitely." I did and was hired by Braniff. After Braniff filed for bankruptcy I was fortunate enough to get hired as an FE at USAir. One one of my first USAir trips I flew as FE for Bob. I asked him if I should accept a recall from Braniff. He laughed and said "Maybe not!" Bob was an excellent pilot and an even better gentleman. Two things for sure: he had big feet and a hollow leg. I'll have that beer now; here's to you, Bob.
We miss you Bob, playing the links won't be the same without your wit and humor to brighten things up, Another great flyer gone west. "Burro" old friend. Out deepest sympathy to Carol and Family. Ted and Jan
I spoke with Bob less than two months ago and it's sad to hear he passed. All Bob's Lake Central through USAirways friends who aren't already rejoined with him will be there to meet him in short enough time. Rest in Peace my friend.

My condolences to the Horlander family. My dad has been gone for over 12 years now but I still fondly remember the stories (and there were a lot!) of the crew from Lake Central thru US Air, including Bob. Mr. Leefe is a great source of stories if you need any. The pilots sure were a great group and I miss them. Rest in peace, Bob, and say hi to Dad for me, and the rest of the crew. And to your family, I hope you can take comfort in knowing that he rests in the arms of God whose face he touched every time he flew. God bless.
Bob was one of my favorites! "A good stick!". Captain Joe Henderson,LCA-AAA
