Obituary of Jim Godby
Jim Godby, 86, of Indianapolis, passed away January 8, 2009. He was born April 30, 1922. Jim was a member of the U.S. Navy during WWII, serving on the U.S.S. Santee. He worked at Godby Heating and Air Conditioning and Central Supply Co. each for 25 years. Jim was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and volunteered at the church and St. Vincent DePaul. He is preceded in death by his wife, Emma Marie Godby and his brothers and sisters. Jim is survived by his sons, Tom (Jenny) and Denny (Ruth) Godby; daughter, Karen (Keith) Spence; grandchildren, Amy (Dirk) Hines, Natalie (Sean) Conway, Mara Godby, Jason (Molly) Godby and Aaron Spence, Jennifer Spence and 10 great grandchildren. He also leaves behind Carolyn Godby and Elizabeth Godby. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on January 12, 2009 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church at 10:00 am, with « hour of calling prior. Visitation will be held on January 11 at Stevens Mortuary, 5520 W 10th St, from 2-6 pm. Entombment will be at Calvary Cemetery. Contributions may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society and online condolences may be made at www.stevensmortuary.net
