Condolences
The passing of Uncle Jim sadly marks the end of an era. Although I only spent time with him on a handful of occasions, he never failed to make me laugh at his crazy antics or silly stories. I knew him best from the stories I heard from his sister, Jean Pennycuff and my mom, Louise Smith. I know all the 9 Godby brothers and sisters, together again, are having a fabulous time!
Tom, Jenny, Mara and Jason, I am very sorry for your loss of your Father and Grandfather.
Tom,Denny, and Karen: We offer our sincere condolences to you on the loss of your dad. Even though you know he is in a better place, the loss of a parent is never easy. I'll always remember your dad as positive, fun, and having a real zest for life. I know you will miss him. I am particularly sorry that I cannot be there for the funeral. Tom has been there at my parents' and sister's funeral, and I thank him for that. God bless you all. Joe
Tom and Denny Kathy and I were sorry to hear of the passing of your dad. What a life he lived though!! We all should have so much fun. Hope to see you guys Sunday. Tom and Kathy Newgent

Tom, Karen and I extend our condolences on the loss of your Dad. I lost my Dad in November at age 92. Looks like both of them lived a long and good life. Chuck

Tom, Denny, and Karen: Sending condolences upon the passing of your dad. Jim, as well as the entire Godby family were great neighbors on Haugh St. Jerry Regich
A very good man,who used to drive me,along with others to Cathedral High School every morning...A strong part of the Holy Trinity community and the business community on the west side, Great father and family man,I had great respect for him as a teen. May GOD grant you eternal peace.
Our thought and prayers are with you Karen and the entire Godby family.
Tom: I will never forget your dad in the stands at Arlington a number of years ago, standing at attention and singing the National Anthem as loudly as I have ever heard it sung - what a dedicated patriot and a man who was proud of his country. He was a great role model for you and he will be missed. Mike Alerding
