I met Ray when my cousin Myrna brought him to my parents' house on Cataract Lake. My father, Ray Brann, and Ray became fishing buddies. My father was getting too old to be out on the lake by himself. They went fishing at least once every week. When they cleaned their catch, they put some in the freezer to save for a fish fry they had every summer for those eating at the Cunot Senior Citizens Center,
When my husband and I were making our garage into a room, I called Ray to ask him for a name of an electrician. He came over and said he would do it. When finished, Ray only charged us for his materials. Then he helped us again when we built our garage. Both times the inspectors complimented us on the electrical work. The trip to our house was many miles, but he didn't seem to mind.
Ray will be missed by both his friends and his family. He was a true Christian man.
Dear Myrna and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Ray was such a fun and kind man. We all miss him. It is a blessing that you had so many years of dancing together and family fun. May the good memories ease your grief!
Ray was such a joy to be around. I will miss him greatly and I am glad that I got to know him.
Lyndsay and I are very sorry for your loss. Ray’s smile was indescribable when he would looked at you. Undeniably had his full attention on you when speaking to him. Reading his obituary was not surprising to see all of his accomplishments and honors. What an amazing legacy he left behind to his entire large family. Lyndsay and I thank you for letting us know and allowing us to care of your Ray. ( He truly was the perfect gentleman.) We will miss him as you will do. RIP Ray
Dear Sommers Family,
Thank you so much for sharing your Dad with us the last 5 1/2 years. Ray was such a wonderful man and I miss him dearly. He never complained about things, he just rolled with the punches. I would have loved to have had him a bit longer but he was tired. I enjoyed getting to know you as well. You will be missed at Brownsburg Meadows Assisted Living, Ray’s home and family. Prayers to you all.
Love,
Bridget Cowper
We are saddened by the news of your loss. Please accept our condolences.
Dear Sommers/Alltop Family,
My thoughts are with Ray's entire family during this difficult time. I only met Ray a hand full of times, but my favorite memory was watching him dance at his granddaughter's, Lindsey, wedding. The stories Linda has shared with me about Ray painted a picture of a man with a loving and full life. I'm certain he will always be remembered among his family and friends.
