Condolences
I'm so sorry for your loss. Prayers to you and your family. I'm glad I got to meet him. He was a funny and loving guy in his own way. Big hugs to all of you.
There is nothing easy about this time if sorrow.
Todd, pleas know that my thoughts are with you & your family. May your dad rest peacefully.
Sending my condolences to the entire Eller family. Uncle James was always one of my favorites. Prayers in the days ahead, it’s never easy.
Love you all,
Cindy
I love Jim. He was always so curious, never knew a stranger and was always asking questions and supportive of Todd and Rich and all of our crazy friends in Fort Lauderdale. He would do anything for you and from what I know, he was a great Pop to Cooper. I sure will miss all of our conversations and stories. Sending lots of love to Sherry and family.
Deepest sympathy and condolences to Todd and Family. Rest now.
My deepest sympathies to Sherry and the entire Eller family.
Not only was Jim a great person to be around during my MCSD career, after he retired, he and Sherry both dedicated so much of their time to making sure the retiree organization prospered. He is the only person who ever called me “Mikey”! Jim had many assignments during his career, Fraud and Forgery being one of them. I remember calling him on many occasions to ask if he would investigate a specific case. Jim had a huge caseload, but despite that he always took the time to help. One of the best things about Jim was his empathy for people, willingness to help and his directness. You always knew what Jim thought about something which he communicated plainly! And did you know, Jim survived the crash of the MCSD helicopter in White River! He was slightly injured, but really upset that he lost his glasses! Rest easy Jim, we are all better having known you.
To the Eller family, you are in my prayers. I know the pain and the loss you are feeling and know that if you need someone to talk to, I am here for you.
Sincerely
Sandy Clark
Here’s wishing Jim a restful journey on the other shore and prayers as well as condolences for Sherry and the family. Jim was a consummate professional and truly great friend. I think his most important talent was a fantastic ability to relate to and work with those of us in Road Patrol. And I also know he was highly respected by the Deputy Prosecutors. R.I.P. Jim.
Richard ‘Eric’ Johnson
Jim and I work together at least three different locations when I was a deputy in narcotics in Brightwood office Jim was also the the Sgt over the Drug Safe. Always very detailed and everyone knew he was well trusted. We work together in Fraud & Forgery in a west side office park sub office. Then we work together out on Rockville Road with our desk right next to each other. Jim was very detailed and organized. Before he left at days end he’d organize his desk. but sometimes I pulled the chair away from his desk after he left just to see him get upset in the morning when he thought someone was using his desk during the evening and left it that way. I never told him. One heck of a detective and top notch guy!!!
Jim and I attended GWHS at the same time. After high-school we ended up as Deputy Sheriff's for Marion County. He was a great officer and detective. We became friends and had a lot of great memories from that. He has been a great supporter of retired Deputy Association. He will be missed by me. Prayers to Sherry and all the family. RIP my friend.
Jim and I worked together at the Marion County Sheriff Dept. but didn't really know each other until we both happened to retire on the same day. We struck up a friendship at that time that has continued and grown since that day in 2001. Jim and Sherry visited our cabin in the Northwoods of Wisconsin several times over the years and made some great memories together. We had talked this past Spring about them maybe coming up this Fall, but it just wasn't to be. My wife Barb and I will always cherish those times and memories. Rest well and peaceful my friend... you earned it many time over!
