MaMaw, the world feels dimmer without you here. The memories of my childhood are a swirl of the light that existed solely within you. Your energy and your aura was a constant flame that warmed me and Rae and the entire family. I will never forget the essentials of my very being to which you contributed to. My love for cooking. Writing. Singing. You were always one of my biggest fans sitting there with wide, beaming eyes as I sang or dance. You listened and you laughed and they were some of the best memories that I still think of today. Your bluntness and your sass were extraordinary, and I carry them with me as I type. You taught me how to fry chicken, a skill I now know should be required for all. You taught me that some of the most frustrating and beautiful moments are when you are bent over a table trying to create a landscape out of puzzle pieces. You held me when I cried, you called me Tinka and Alexandria(the only person I would ever allow do such a thing) You were beautiful every day and you help make me the woman I am today. A piece of my soul feels gone without you here, but I can only smile in your memory. That light that you carried still rests within me. It is there every night in the quilt you made me as I snuggle under the comfy depths. I love you so much, my dear MaMaw. Thank you for the life that you unapologetically lead. I can only hope I can do the same in your honor. All my love, Alexandria "Tinka" Kassan
I REMEMBER TT BETTY WAS A SWEET HEART ALWAYS SAID WHAT WAS ON HER MIND BUT THATS WHAT MADE HER SUCH A LOVING PERSON I SEND MY LOVE TO FARAH ID LOVE TO SEE U N THOSE BEAUTIFUL KIDS ITS BEEN SUCH A LONG TIME LOVE CAT
It has taken me a while to even make it through her page, but I'm back to share how strange our last day together was. My sister and I always fought, but that day we didn't. That makes me happy because of the many fights we had. I remember that she was all smiles that day as we hugged and said "I'll see you later". That's a wonderful last memory to have of My Sister Betty. I also want to express to Farah, Ray, Alex, and Ellie how very sad I am that we all didn't have more time with her. And that life is too short. We just have to be strong and make the best of it. Until we see her again, keep your heads up. With Sincere Love, T. T. Cookie
I'm going to truly Mrs.Betty..She always treated me like a daughter..I have some really funny memories from this lady..she will be greatly missed. Rest on till we laugh again.....Love Nicole
Betty was family since I was 17 years old when I met, and eventually had a 20 year marriage to her daughter, and of course she was the grandmother to my 3 children. Our lives, like so many have been far from perfect, and while we didn't see eye to eye all the time throughout those 20 years she was very close to Farah and the kids, and I know in my heart she did her very best for them every day. She loved them all dearly, and I am greatful for Betty, not only for having been in the lives of the people that mean most to me, but making it possible for them to touch my life. I know you're resting easy now Betty. You will be missed.
Beautiful in Blue was purchased for the family of Betty L. Robinson.
I remember riding down south with cousin Betty and she had brought some fish back in a cooler. Man we drove all them hours back with the car smelling like fish. It took me two weeks to get that smell out. Betty just kept laughing.
Dear momma. The whole in my heart will never heal. You made me strong so I will survive. Never good bye, I will see you later. Love always. Farah
I remember coming up to Chicago for the summer and tee tee Betty had a collection of movies and we would watch the whiz with Diana Ross over and over... R.I.P. tee
