Condolences
We were so sorry to hear of Ruby's passing although we know she lived a long and fullfilling life. We have known Ruby for many years and have shared many happy times with her. We have shared vacations, family holidays, and important family events with Ruby because she was considered to be a family member. She was a great lady and a very special person to all who knew her.
I would like to express my sympathy to Mrs. Corn's friends. She was my teacher at Stephen Decatur Elementary School in 1962. She was one of the teachers that made an impact in my life. At the time my parents were seperated and later divorced. She was very understanding and uplifted me so many times as I struggled. She always made me feel good about myself and encouraged me that I could do whatever I set my mind to. She was a very special lady. God Bless You, Darlene (Coy) Crawford
Miss Corn was my 4th-grade teacher at Stephen Decatur Elementary in 1968. In those days, I loved school, learning "long division" and developing my love for reading. Each year, my mother allowed me to invite my teacher to our home for dinner. Miss Corn accepted and very graciously made our humble home feel worthy of such a respected guest, while sharing memories of her travels with us. I remember very vividly her wearing bracelets that she bought on her travels. Miss Corn made a positive impact on my life, and I'm happy to have been in her class.
