Obituary of Martha J Caldwell
Martha J. Caldwell, 85, of Indianapolis, IN passed away early Wednesday morning, April 25, 2018 in Ocala, FL with her family by her side. Martha was born November 10, 1932 in Connersville, IN to the late Albert J. and Clara Obermeyer Kunkel. Martha worked many years as a secretary at Maplewood School. She moved to Indianapolis in 1992 and worked as an executive secretary at Merchants Bank (PNC Bank). Martha was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church in Speedway, IN where she was in charge of the social club and also a church greeter.
Martha loved to garden. She had a knack for flowers and she loved to sit on her deck and enjoy all the beauty. Martha loved to go to her water aerobics and yoga classes weekly. She looked forward to not only the classes, but the friendship and coffee after. .Martha also loved to travel. She loved visiting her children, grandchildren, sisters and brother, going on cruises, taking trips to places all over the country or just taking a long drive.
Martha is survived by her daughter, Cynthia (Robert) Kramer of Summerfield, FL., and her son Randall (Tracy) Caldwell of Corning, NY. Grandchildren; Nathan Kramer of Fort Wayne, IN, Damian Kramer of Indianapolis, IN, Mathiew Kramer of Dresden, OH, Eli Caldwell, Isaac Caldwell and Samuel Caldwell of Corning, NY, Patrick Henderson of Indianapolis, IN. Kaleigh Stachura of Maryland and Chelsea Stachura of New Jersey. Martha is survived by her brother: Albert (Bernice) Kunkel of Connersville, IN, sisters; Helen (Edward) Fasnacht of Wellington, FL and Alma (William)Treece of La Mesa CA. and many nieces and nephews. She will also be dearly missed by her close childhood friend of over 75 years, Margie Eversole of Shelbyville, IN as well as Barbara Phillips and Mary Ann Wolf, who were her very special friends in Indianapolis.
Preceding Martha in death were her parents, her husband, William E. Caldwell, daughter, Lori M. Henderson, brothers; Robert Kunkel and John Kunkel; sisters Ruth Caldwell and Mary Ann Luerman. Respecting Martha’s wishes, her body will further advance medical research at the University of Florida. Her ashes will be laid to rest beside her husband at Dale Cemetery in Connersville, IN.
