Obituary of Jordan Russell Nelis
Jordan (JuJu) Russell Nelis, 26, a lifelong resident of Speedway, joined family in heaven Friday morning when he lost his hard fought battle with addiction. Jordan was born in Indianapolis on January 5, 1990, to two wonderful parents, Michael and Theresa Nelis, who he loved unconditionally. He was a fun-loving person that would light up a room with his playful personality and enormous heart. Jordan will be remembered for his contagious smile, boisterous laugh, and beautiful blue eyes. He attended Traders Point Christian church and enjoyed several addiction counseling venues. He was a devoted animal lover, showing special treatment only to his best friend, Rocky. Jordan also was an avid sports fan. He never missed an Indianapolis Colts, Indiana Pacers, or Indiana Hoosiers game (GO IU!). Jordan’s love for sports was only preceded by his unwavering love for his family and friends, who he reminded every day how special they were to him. Jordan was an amazing, grandson, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He will forever be remembered for the great person that he was. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Russell and Grace Nelis; and aunt, Diana Rickett. Jordan is survived by his parents, Mike (Tony) and Terri; grandparents, John and Pat Brand; brothers, Trevor and Jared; sisters, Alexis and Erika; and his beloved nephew, Eli; aunts, Char (Rick) Ray and Samantha (Harold) Bowling; uncles, Tom (Robin) Nelis, Dave (Sue) Nelis, Chad (Mandy) Brand, Keith Brand and Bill Ricket. Jordan is also survived by numerous cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly. In memory of Jordan, and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society 7929 N Michigan Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46268.
