To the family of David,

I am a classmate of David's from Cathedral. We didn't really spend time together outside of school, but we did share many classes in school. He would sometimes help me with math homework during lunch. He was far more adept in math and science than I ever was.

Today, I suspect some would call us nerds, but I remember him as a good student and much funnier than people realized. David was not as outgoing as many were, but he was good company in class. From his obituary, it sounds as if he did quite well professionally. I hope that God can comfort you all at this time.

Dave was like a brother to the Jerry & Mary Margaret Kelly kids. Our family was very close to Dave and his parents, Maggie and Ray Fort.

Dave was one of my instructors at Butler University. He he was one of the kindest, warmest people to grace Jordan Hall and the old WTBU building on Illinois. So many memories in the old WTBU truck parked at Hinkle with Dave. Thanks for being a positive influence in my college days. Prayers to his family.

Dave sure kept our sailing club running for many many years. We will sure miss him. People such as Dave don't come along very often!
