Mary & Larry,
I just wanted to say how sorry I was to hear about John's(Sonny, that's how I knew him) passing! I had just seen him on New Years Day there at Brownsburg Meadows after visiting mom. We even joked about the Notre Dame football team loosing the bowl game! I still remember the first ND game I saw with him and Junior and I'll never forget it! I also remember many Friday nights going to Cathedral football games at the old CYO FIELD on 16th street! He would always ask me to go to those games and I really had fun. He didn't have to ask me but him and Junior always did!
Those will always be the memories I have of him!
He was a good and kind man!
I also want to say THANK YOU for all you have done in taking care of him since he lost Mickie! She was special too!
Sorry I did not get to talk with you today at the funeral Mass but I got there a little late! Please know I am thinking of both of you at this time! Sonny lived a good life and now he is at rest with Mickie and all!
God Bless, Steve
Sonny was a wonderful, kind hearted man with a great sense of humor. I remember him since I was a child, and the times he and Mickey would visit Grandma Vertacnik and all of us on the farm. Being just small kids, Larry, Steve and I would be thoroughly entertained by him when he would tell us jokes or lift us in the air over his head, which was a real thrill since he was over 6 ft. tall. Always a smile on his face and a sparkle in his eyes, this was Sonny. We will all miss him dearly.
My condolences to the family. The loss of a loved one is never easy, but please find comfort in God's word the bible that says there is going to be a resurrection. Acts 24:15 says there is going to be a resurrection of the righteous and the unrighteous, and with this hope it is possible for you to see him again. In addition to that wonderful promise the bible gives us more hope at Rev. 21:4 that talks about a restored paradise where the human family will have the prospect of enjoying life without end, free of sickness, disease and death as we welcome back our dear loved ones. May you find comfort in God's word the bible and may the many wonderful memories that John your loved one provided comfort you during this most difficult time.
Dear Family of John Hren: John was one of the sweetest repairman that I ever dispatched. We called him "Dr. J.", because he carried his tools in a bag that looked like a doctor's bag. He was also a real good repairman. He always had a kind word to say to every one he met. May he rest in peace.
I remember John from the headquarters complex of Indiana Bell. Always fixing our phones, always a kind word, and always carrying his "doctors bag" of tools. You will be missed John, you long earned the rest.
