Obituary of Nancy Hardwick
Nancy Lou Hardwick, 84, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away March 20, 2015.She was born in Indianapolis, IN on March 17, 1931 to Virgil and Kathryn (Strickler) Owen, both proceeding her in death. In 1987, she is also preceded in death by her loving husband of 37 years, Mr. George Herbert Hardwick; and her brother Mr. Virgil Owen Jr.
Nancy devoted her life to her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grand-mother. Nancy was a blessing to all who knew her. She worked for the Indiana School for the Deaf and retired after working 24 years. Nancy was a member of the Speedway "500" Ladies Golf Club where she was the first and only female to get a hole-in-one. She loved sports of all kinds such as basketball, baseball and later in life she especially enjoyed the sport of golf. Nancy also loved and cared for animals, especially cats.
Nancy is survived by her sons; Michael (Jeanne) Hardwick and Randy (Carol) Hardwick; sister Sally (Lawrence) Lutes; sister-in-law Judy Owen; 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 24 from 10 am - 12 pm with a funeral service at 12 pm in Stevens Mortuary, 5520 W. 10th St., Indpls.
