Condolences
It was my honor to get to work and call Barb a friend. The lord received an amazing angel. She certainly was someone that I looked up to, the way she demonstrated the hands of the holy spirit so openly and unconditional was rare and inspiring. I am so sorry for your lose, and I am a better person for knowing her.
Dan, I am not sure if you remember us or not. Many many years ago you and Barb allowed us to drive your van to Florida on vacation and sadly you drove our Jeep which I believe broke down during that time. (Again we are sorry!!) Anyway, our hearts are breaking for you and your family. Barb was an angel on earth. She and I flew to Union Square in St. Louis to visit the Mary Engelbreit store there. What a love story we had with with Mary, still to this day. Barb was kind and generous. She always had a smile on her face. Please know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. Peach and Dave
I worked with Barbara at Lynhurst Baptist Church in the Tuesday night Weight Watchers meeting. She was the LC and my receptionist. She was a wonderful lady. I remember her angel collection and how she always went above and beyond. She shared her hospice work and how she was always baking cookies to take. I always thought those she touched in hospice care were really blessed. My condolences to her loved ones. She will be missed but she is, I am sure, now an angel.
Dan,Joanna,Renee & Adam, I can't imagine the loss you must be feeling. Barb was the kindest, gentlest, most giving person I have ever known. I feel so blessed to have known her. I have seen those same trait's in all of you. I will truly miss seeing her in the office. Please know my heart felt thoughts are with all of you. Paula Snellenberger
She was such a wonderful lady. I have always referred to her as the "Angel Lady" because of her love for angels and she was always giving us angels at Christmas. I have now started my own collection and love angels as she did.I will always remember her when I see them. Now she is a real Angel Lady! God Bless!
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family, she was a wonderful woman...
My husband Randy and I also was a part of the Bible Study that Dan and Barb hosted in the mid-late 70's. Barb was always a sweet and genuine person. Randy and I will be praying for Barb's family in this difficult time. She was a beautiful person inside and out.
Dan, You are at the center of our thoughts as you, your family, and friends deal with the pain of losing Barb. Still, you have the wonderful memories and strong support of your faith, your family and those friends. Blessings, Ron and Jean
I am so sorry for the Duckworth Family and your loss, I lost my Mom last year. I have found death to leave me with a feeling of helplessness. May I leave you this word of encouragement that has helped me. The Bible says at 1 Corinthians 15: 26 that God hates death, and shows it to be an enemy. He has "a yearning" to conquer that enemy, to undo death by means of the resurrection. He longs to bring back those who are in his memory and to see them live on earth again. -Job 14:14,15. My sincere condolences
Thinking back to times gone by at the E.O.C. Barb always had a smile that would light up the room. A kind and warm soul. Thoughts and prayers to her family and friends. May the Peace of Christ be with you.
Thinking of you all, during this time. Sending many overdue hugs your way.
To the family of Barb, I starting volunteering on the Yellow Rose Unit at the same time Barb came on. As we got to know each other I found out how loving and caring a person she was. She told me about her Angel collection, and I told her how I had collected Angels also. Then when I found out she donated some of her Angels to the unit, it touched my heart. I send my prayers to the family, sincerely Debbie
My dear sweet Barb - How is it that you could light up a room just by entering and make every person feel like they were the most important person in the world to you. I can barely remember my life when you weren't in it. I will see you in heaven my friend.
Barb, volunteer extraordinare. You are deeply missed RIP.
Barb was one of the most generous, thoughtful people I've ever known! When I grow up, Barb, I want to be like you! MEMORY ETERNAL! Love & prayers for Dan and all her loved ones!
Barb was a very special lady. How she loved the Lord and her family. Eternal peace to Barb. You will be missed.
Many young men and women of my age (early 20's at the time) met in the home of Dan and Barb on North Cecil in the mid 1970s for fellowship and bible study. As far as I can tell from talking with those acquaintances, we are all still married to our original spouse. I ponder at this often, and while reflecting on the beautiful example set by Barb and Dan, think that we may have set our standards for our mates just a little bit higher because of them. Our prayers are with you. In Christ, Alan Stuckey
I was blessed to work with Barb while she was a secretary on the Mother/Baby unit at Methodist Hospital. Everyone loved her here, and for good reason-she was truly one of the most positive, caring and gentle people I will ever know. She will be missed so much by all who had the chance to know her.
