Obituary of Nancy Carter
Our beautiful mother Nancy Jane Carter went peacefully to heaven on Wednesday, February 18, 2015. Nancy was born to Ralph Thomas & Mabel (Martin) Thomas on March 15, 1930 in Brazil, IN. She moved to Indianapolis as a young child and grew up on the west side. She was a graduate of Washington High School. Nancy married the love of her life, Lonnie Carter on July 29th, 1950, of that marriage they had five children, Diane Lowe, Pam Hubner, Lynda Priest, James Carter and Jenny McCulloch, ten grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren. Preceding Nancy in death was her husband of 56 years, Lonnie Carter; her parents; brothers, Ray, Jack and Ralph Thomas Jr.; sister, Dixie Moon and son-in-law, Michael Hubner. Nancy and Lonnie were long time members of Memorial Baptist Church. She retired from Kroger having worked at their main office. In lieu of flowers the family request donations may be made to Church of the Master Baptist Church, 1620 North Girls School Road, Indianapolis, IN 46214. Funeral service will be held on Saturday February 21, 2015 in Stevens Mortuary, 5520 W. 10th Street, Indpls at 2 p.m. with visitation from 11 a.m. until service time.
