Obituary of Christi Anderson
Christi Ann Richmond Anderson, 54, of Lebanon, Indiana, passed away February 3, 2015, surrounded by her family, following a six year battle with breast cancer.
Christi was born August 25, 1960, in Indianapolis to Richard Charles II and Betty Joan Hartman Richmond. She grew up in Avon, Indiana, and attended Avon schools. It was there that she met, and started dating at the age of 16, the love of her life Michael Thomas Anderson, whom she married on September 19, 1981.
Christi received her B.S. with a major in Marketing from Indiana University in 1991. She later earned her Juris Doctor, also from I.U., in 2003, a feat she accomplished while working full-time and raising their three sons, Patrick, Andrew and Christopher. After initially practicing with the law firm of Lewis & Wagner, Christi joined what was then known as Bingham McHale, where she was named a partner in 2009. Christi's practice was focused on helping others in the areas of probate, estate law and adoptions. Following her diagnosis with stage IV breast cancer in 2011, Christi formed her own law firm, Anderson Legal, LLC, so that she could spend more time with her family, and also practice law on her own terms.
When Christi wasn't helping clients or volunteering her time with St. Vincent Foundation to help others with cancer, she enjoyed hiking and camping with Mike. She also loved the week she spent with her entire family in a cottage on Lake Michigan near Pentwater each summer since childhood; reading, swimming, playing on the beach with her sons and nieces, enjoying campfires, playing cards, and marveling at sunsets. Being able to see her eldest sons marry, then enjoy the granddaughter and grandson, who both arrived during the past year, were gifts she especially cherished.
In addition to her loving husband, Mike, her sons, Patrick (Jana), Andrew (Kacy) and Christopher, her grandchildren, Adelyn Jean Anderson and Luke Michael Anderson; parents, Dick and Betty, Christi also is survived by her brother, Rick (Connie) Richmond, brother in law, Mark Anderson and four nieces.
A celebration of Christi's life will be held on Saturday, February 7 from 10 am - 1 pm in Stevens Mortuary, 5520 W. 10th St., Indianapolis. A brief service will follow before burial at Crown Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity which will be named and made available during the visitation and funeral service.
