Obituary of James Borshoff

James N. Borshoff, 79, of Fishers entered into eternal rest on November 4, 2014. Mr. Borshoff was an U.S. Army Veteran, serving two years in Germany and was a member of the American Legion, Post 497. Returning from service, he taught mathematics and was a guidance counselor before becoming an administrator. He served as the guidance director, assistant director of adult education prior to becoming budgetary business manager at Arsenal Technical High School. Mr. Borshoff earned his Bachelor and Master degrees from Butler University. In addition, he did graduate work at the University of Wyoming, UCLA, Indiana and Indiana State Universities. He was an honorary member of Kappa Mu Epsilon. Mr. Borshoff was a member of St. Stephen Bulgarian Orthodox Church serving as a member of the church board, trustee and warden. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marika and Nikola and his brother, George Borshoff. He is survived by his loving wife, Ellen; 2 sons, Brian (Sherry) and David (Alessia); step daughter, Christena Ganc (Eric); two grandchildren, Tiffany and Caroline Borshoff. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 7 from 4 pm to 8 pm in St. Stephen Bulgarian Orthodox Church, 1435 Medford Ave., Indpls. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 8 at 10 am also in the church. Interment will follow immediately at Floral Park Cemetery with an Orthodox Celebration of Life to follow in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Stephen Bulgarian Orthodox Church, 1435 Medford Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46222 or to the donor's favorite charity.
