Obituary of Milorad Cvetkovich

Milorad "Milo" Cvetkovich, 92, passed away peacefully at home July 24, 2014. Milo was born August 10, 1921 in Prizren, Serbia to Stanoje and Draga (Jovanovic) Cvetkovich. During WWII, he was a POW until liberated by the US Army. He then enlisted in the US Army and served the USA for 2 years. He came to America in 1948 and married Sofia Tasich in 1949 in Indianapolis, IN. Milo worked for the Indianapolis Police Department for 8 years and retired from Ford Motor Company in 1987 after 23 years of service. Milo was a member of St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church, where he served as church president for several years. He enjoyed gardening and was known for his Serbian peppers. He was loved by his family and friends and he will be greatly missed by all. Milo was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Mirko, Ljubomir, Bogoslav, Srecko and Mormir. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Sofia; children, Dorothy (Virgil) Cross, Stan (Carol) Cvetkovich, Millie (Sveto) Arsich, Alex (Tammy) Cvetkovich; grandchildren, Natalie, Nick, Mark (Amy), Stefan, Bato, Stephanie, Jelena, Elizabeth, Lillie and Larkin. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 1 from 2 pm - 8 pm with a memorial service to begin at 7 pm in St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church, 7855 Marsh Road, Indianapolis, IN 46278. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 2 at 11 am with visitation from 10 am until service time, also at the church. Burial will follow at Floral Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church.
