Obituary of Eleanor Newby
Eleanor Dian Newby 74, of Indianapolis passed away January 20, 2014. She was born in Grant County, IN on April 8, 1939 to Verne V. and Mildred D. (Tippey) Owen, both preceding her in death. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Joyce Newby.
Eleanor worked in food service for St. Vincent's Hospital in Williamsport, IN. She was a member of the Red Hat Society at Crestwood Village. Eleanor enjoyed her family and spending time together or just talking on the phone. She loved her bingo, games and coffee time with the ladies. When she was able, she loved riding motorcycles with her husband, camping and exploring new places.
Eleanor is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 53 ½ years, Mr. Charles M. Newby; daughter Beverly (Jeff) Hedrick; sons, Scott (Patricia) Newby and Jack Newby; brother, Verne "Vic" (Joan) Owen; grandchildren, Johnathon (Amber) Brumley, Brian Brumley, Matthew (Keisha) Newby, Luke Newby, Adam (Jennifer) Hedrick and Tyler Sasser; great-grandchildren Haleigh Brumley, Elijah Brumley, Madison Hedrick, Olivia Hedrick and Charles Newby.
