Obituary of George Armstrong
George Eugene "Jup" Armstrong
84, of Speedway passed away September 29, 2011. He was born July 25, 1927.
George was employed for 34 years at Speedway Water Works, retiring in 1993. He was in the U.S. Army who served in WWII and the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post 500, Masonic Lodge Plainfield 653 and VFW Post 1587. George was loved by all and was a father figure to many other children.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Catherine "Katie" Roth Armstong.
He is survived by his sons, Steve (Sharon) Armstrong, Larry (Patty) Armstrong and Danny (Rose) Armstrong; daughters, Linda (Charlie) Wise and Elaine (Mel) Brosman; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 4 from 4 to 8 p.m. in Stevens Mortuary & Family Center , 5520 W. 10th St, Indpls. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 5 at 10:30 a.m., also at the mortuary. http://www.stevensmortuary.net
