Obituary of Allen Swinford
Allen D. Swinford Jr, 71 of Indianapolis died July 24, 2013. Allen was born on April 30, 1942 in Springfield, IL to the late Allen D. and Ruth Swinford. Allen served proudly in the United States Marine Corps from 1960- 1966. His career included many business ventures, but worked for Linkbelt from 1965-1970 and then Allison Transmission from 1970 - 1993. Allen was a Real Estate Broker and owned First Call Realty in which he operated for over 13 years. He was also the owner of the Eagle Hill Driving Range from 2000 to present. He was a member of the American Legion, Masons and the Murat Shrine.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Nancy S. Swinford, daughter Tiffany (Doug) Champion, son Brian (Jonalyn) Swinford, grandsons Ethan and Caleb Champion, sister Judy Wilson and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be held on Friday July 26, 2013 in Stevens Mortuary 5520 W. 10th St., from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday July 27, 2013 in Roselawn Memorial Park 7500 N Clinton St Terre Haute, IN. In liue of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the IU Health Hospice1 701 North Senate Blvd. Indianapolis, IN 46202
