Obituary of John Williams
John Williams, 61, passed away April 17, 2013. He passed away peacefully at home after a lengthy illness. He was born May 18, 1951 in Frankfort, Indiana to Agnes (Roth) and Thomas L. Williams.
John attended Frankfort High School and later earned an accounting degree from Ivy Tech. Although his health prevented him from playing football or basketball, he served as team manager and traveled with the teams to all their games. He was a manager for Mac's Hamburgers while in high school, which later led to a career in the restaurant industry. He was a supervisor while in Frankfort and eventually became a supervisor for Wendy's franchises in Lafayette, Indiana and Indianapolis. Upon his retirement, he continued his love for coin collecting and gardening. He was most proud of his tomatoes at the end of the season and how many quarts could eventually get canned. He was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church and enjoyed working with the festival in the summer. His family was important to him. Recently, he enjoyed spending time with his brother, Russ in organizing family pictures. His children and grandchildren were the loves of his life. He always enjoyed fishing with them while they were younger, and other activities as they got older. A naturally positive person, John always appreciated wherever he was and we will continue to celebrate life the way you did and continue to make you proud.
John is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Barb; sons, Joe (Deanna) and Howard Williams of Frankfort, Indiana and Chris (Jessie) Auer of North Carolina; daughters, Michelle (Scott) Seibert of Brookville, IN and Sarah (Mark) Nicholson of Fountain City IN; 19 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his son, Bob, and his parents.
Visitation will be Monday, April 22 from 4-8pm in Stevens Mortuary, 5520 W. 10th St., Indpls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St Gabriel Catholic Church, 6000 W 34th St. at 11 am. There will be a short visitation one hour prior to the Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
