Condolences
I think of Giancarlo so very often which then leads me to thoughts of his loving family - his wife and children and his parents, Harriet and James. Even though it has now been over three years, all of you please know that he is not forgotten by those of us who are not family and he never will be forgotten. May peace and love be with you all.
Thinking of your family as this difficult anniversary approaches.
I am Megan Castrataro, daughter of Giancarlo. I remember all of the fun times my dad and I had in Canada. A couple years back, I caught a really big fish and my dad helped me reel it in. I remember making all kinds of fun deserts, watching movies, and doing puzzles. Also, my cousin Sam went with us and me, my dad, and Sam all played on our DSs the whole time. Last year, my friend Kat went with us and we went to Belleville and saw a movie and went shopping. It was really fun! I am happy that he rests in his favorite place. I am currently working on a magazine about my life with my counselor. It includes all kinds of pictures and memories. I hope to finish it soon. I hope that you all remember the good memories of my dad. Love you all!
Sorry for your loss, i met him because i work at the daycare his son attends. he was a very friendly man and i could tell he loved his children very much.My prayers are with your family.
Dear Harriet and James, I was so deeply saddened to hear of Giancarlo's passing. Although I never met him personally, I feel that I have seen him many times when your eyes twinkled every time you spoke of him. He was personified by the twinkle in your eyes and the love in your heart. Please accept my sincere condolences and know that my thought and prayers are with you both, Jaime, Megan and Nicolo as you all honor his memory.
I join friends and family in respect for and appreciation of the life and contributions of Mr. Castrataro.
Jaime, Megan, Nicolo, and Gian's extended family - I worked with Giancarlo at Eli Lilly, and kept in touch after leaving the company. At one time, our desks were right next to each other. I enjoyed my discussions with Giancarlo, and anyone who crossed paths with Gian quickly found out that he was very thankful for and proud of his family. I am sorry for your loss, and you are in my prayers. May the peace of God rule in your hearts as you remember your husband father, and son
Harriet and James, I was so shocked and saddened to learn of Giancarlo's passing. I will forever have a "snapshop in time" of that little boy running and playing in Fellowship Hall at Parent's Day Out. My sincere sympathy to you and your family. My hope and prayer is that the good memories you have of Giancarlo will sustain you through these difficult times. Dorothy Slota

James, Harriet, Jamie, Megan, and, Nicolo; Thank you for letting us experience Giancarlo in our lives - from watching an adolescent taking walks with Mom and Dad, to an excited groom and proud husband, to an enamored Dad, to a Brownie "Dad" creek walking aand splitting geodes. Mostly, an amazing role model for Henry. Giancarlo and you all are forever in our hearts.

Harriet and James - I have cried a river of tears over the news of your loss. Giancarlo was a good son and the character and goodness of his heart that you taught him lives on in his wife and children and the good things that will happen to people living on because of him. He is a hero to many and a beacon of light and an example of how we should all live our lives. You have much to be proud of in his life. I'm so sorry for your loss and I have thinking about you day and night since I heard the news. You are in my prayers and thoughts.

I am Loree Clark from Magee, Mississippi. Derek Cahill my nephew met Giancarlo while in college at Indiana university...they became best friends and stayed in touch all of these years. My sister Lorene Cahill told me that he said that he did not know how he met Dereck because he never came to class. I know it was in Gods plans for them to meet. Derek loved him so much.
