Obituary of Ralph Brooks
Ralph Daniel Brooks, 65, of Indianapolis passed away March 30, 2012. He was born in Lafayette, IN on March 31, 1946 to Daniel Earl Brooks and Mamie Brooks both preceding him in death.
Ralph started working at U.P.S. in 1968 after proudly serving in the United States Army. He became a Union Steward, then a Business Agent and retired as the Vice President of Local 135 in Indianapolis. Ralph loved his job and was highly regarded as a man of integrity and loyalty. Ralph and his wife Marsha proudly own Ms. B's Sweet Supplies. Ralph loved his family and was so proud of all of them, especially his only granddaughter who was the sparkle in his eye. Ralph loved golfing, but his favorite past time was making his family and friends laugh and smile with his stories and jokes. Ralph was a patriot and a proud long time standing member of The American Legion Post 500. Ralph was also a long time member at the Chapel Rock Christian Church of which he loved and endeared all his church family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Alvin Whitaker formally of Lafayette, IN. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Marsha Hargis Brooks; daughter Beth Ann (Jeffrey) Holsather of St. Robert, MO; sisters, Betty Jo (Joe) Bowman of Lafayette, IN, Alice Faye (James) Jones of Lafayette, IN, and Sherry M (Dewey) Brooks of Camby, IN; brothers, Michael Ray (Cindy) Brooks of Frankfort, IN, Larry Earl (Cathy) Brooks of Lafayette, IN and Jerry B (Anita) Brooks of Smyrna, TN; granddaughter, Leslie Ann Holsather of St. Robert, MO and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 9 from 3pm-4pm at Chapel Rock Christian Church, 2020 N. Girls School Road with a funeral service at 4 pm. Pastor John Holsapple and Pastor Michael Harold Brooks officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. www.woundedwarriorproject.org
