Obituary of Adolph Komlanc
Adolph A. "Dockie" Komlanc, 91, went home on December 20, 2011. He was married to Dorothy J. Komlanc for 56 years. He was a member of the Indianapolis Fire Department for 29 years, retiring in 1976. Dockie served in the U.S. Army during World War II, while fighting in Africa he was captured for 26 months. His actions during the war resulted in him being a decorated POW. Dockie was a member of the Firefighters Local 416. He was also a member of the American Legion and the American Ex Prisoners of War. He was a member of St. Susanna Catholic Church in Plainfield. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, and daughter, Jane. Dockie is survived by his children; Kenneth (Deborah) Komlanc, Barbara (Ray) Pearsey, Monica (Michael) Gerbick, and Cynthia (John) Johnson and one brother, William Komlance. He was blessed with nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 4pm-8pm, Thursday, December 22 at Stevens Mortuary and Family Center, 5520 W. 10th St. Indpls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am Friday, December 23 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 901. North Holmes, Indpls. www.stevensmortuary.net
