Obituary of Kevin Habel

(July 2, 1957-December 2, 2011) age 54. Kevin was born under the shadows of Touchdown Jesus in South Bend, Indiana, but resided most of his life in Indianapolis. He is survived by his parents Dale and Lorraine Habel; brother Patrick and wife Luanne; sister Sue; step- son Jarrett and newly wed wife Jennifer; and his best friend and beloved wife Bobbi Habel. For 11 years Kevin worked for Indiana Bell which had also employed his father, brother, and sister for many years. He eventually left to join the sales force at Yellow Pages Unlimited where he became part-owner and ultimately retired from in 2004. Kevin was married and started his family with wife Bobbi and her son, Jarrett in 1990. They had 21 years of a very blessed marriage moving to their dream home on Sweetwater Lake seven years ago. Kevin lived life to the fullest always offering to go fishing with friends and family, playing cards and listening to music until all hours of the night, and following Notre Dame football and IndyCar racing. He was an expert model builder specializing in aircraft from WWII, and the Vietnam and Korean Wars. Many of his models were donated and are now being displayed at the Atterbury-Bakalar Air Museum in Columbus, Indiana where Kevin was an active member. Kevin's last day was spent with his wife Bobbi at their home. A motto Kevin lived his life by was; "I'd rather laugh with the sinners, then cry with the saints. The sinners are much more fun..." And as Kevin is testament to: Only the Good Die Young. Services will be held on Tuesday, December 6 at St.Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 3354 W. 30th St., Indianapolis, IN 46222. Visitation will take place from 9:00am-11:00am, with a Catholic Mass at 11:00 am.
