Obituary of Kenneth Moore
Kenneth L. Moore 51, Indianapolis, passed away suddenly but peacefully at 1:15 p.m. November 26, 2009, surrounded by his loving family, his partner and his Pastor, Rev. Valerie Wilson. Calmly and serenely, he was lifted into the arms of his loving Savior and Lord. He fought a courageous battle against pancreatic cancer. The son of Robert L. Moore and Joann Gardner Willis, Kenneth was born May 12, 1958 in Indianapolis, IN. Kenneth was an employee of CVS Distribution Center, Indianapolis, for 30 years. Kenny was also employed as a server for the Iron Skillet, Indianapolis for 11 years. Kenny was affiliated with the Fred Astaire Dance Studio for several years as a Latin ballroom dancer. Survivors include son, Justin Moore (Randi) Indianapolis, IN and two grandchildren, Kylie and Logan; daughter, Jessica Moore and four grandchildren, Jordan, Zachary, Brayden, and Alexis; two sisters, Diana Boyett, (Derwood) Lake City Florida, Mary Ann Harrison, (Lin) Camby, IN; four brothers Melvin Moore, (Beth) Webster, FL, Jerry Moore, (Sian) UK, Joni Moore (Dottie) Beech Grove, IN, Ricky Moore (Cindy) Indianapolis, IN. Also surviving is Kenny's soul-mate and partner, John F. Weninger, Indianapolis, IN. Visitation for Kenneth will be held at Stevens Mortuary and Family Center, 5520 West 10th Street, Indianapolis, IN on Sunday, November 29, 2009 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Monday, November 30, 2009 at St. Andrew United Methodist Church, 2560 Villa Avenue, Indianapolis, IN, with Rev. Valerie Wilson officiating. A private burial service will be conducted at West Ridge Park on Tuesday morning, December 1, 2009. Since Kenny was such a lover of flowers, floral tributes are much appreciated or you can make a donation to the Indiana University Melvin and Bren Simon Cancer Center, 535 Barnhill Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46202 in Kenny's memory to be used for further research of pancreatic cancer. Mr. Weninger extends a heartfelt and sincere thanks to the staff of Community Hospital South ? ICU 2nd Floor Wing, to his family physician, Dr. James LeGrand, to the doctors and staff of Central Indiana Cancer Center, 1346 East County Line Road, to Dr. Max Christan Schmidt and his staff at I U Hospital Cancer Center, and all other hospitals and clinics that cared for and supported Kenny during his 10-month battle.
