Obituary of Robert Miner
Robert Eugene Miner 84, Speedway, passed away on March 11, 2009. He was born on November 1, 1924 to Benjamin and Nellie Miner. Bob retired from Allison GM after 30+ years. He was an Army Veteran serving our country in the Philippines during WWII. Bob is survived by his wife of 62+ years, Frances (Butler) Miner; four daughters, Sammie (Doug) Michaels, Mickey Wathen, Bobbi (Ken) Jones and Peggy Miner; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Bob proudly wore the hat of family patriarch and directed his family in his style that stands out as an unselfish provider, husband and father. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; one sister; one son-in-law and one grandson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Noble Industries, N. Tibbs Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46222. Calling will be on Friday, March 13, 2009 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Stevens Mortuary, 5520 W. 10th St. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 10 a.m. at the mortuary. www.stevensmortuary.net.
