Obituary of Charles Alhand
Charles P. Alhand, 52, Avon, passed away on September 12, 2009. He was a graduate of Pike High School, Purdue University and the Navy Nucular Power School. Charles served six years in the Navy in the submarine service. In 2003, he suffered a disabling motorcycle accident which prevented him from continuing his engineering career at Contour Hardening. Since then, he has served as a volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry.
Charles in survived by his loving parents, Jim and Ann Alhand; sisters, Liz Ann (Ross van Wassenhove) Alhand, Mary Lynn (Tim) Flanigan, Kathleen (Bill) Denton; brother, Dennis Alhand and seven nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his infant sister, Jean Marie Alhand.
A memorial service will be held at Holy Spirit at Geist in the chapel on Friday, September 18 at 10:00 am. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry, 3001 E. 30th, Indpls, 46218.
