Obituary of Arthur W. Stowers

Arthur W. Stowers, 77, of Indianapolis passed away on January 12, 2025. He was born in Valpariso, Indiana to Arthur J. and Glady (Flitter) Stowers. Art served proudly and bravely in the US Army from 1968 – 1970. After the Army, Art worked for INB where he met his lovely wife, Linda. Meeting for the first time on the dance floor with his famous line “Haven’t I seen you before”, then soon realized they both worked at the same company. After tying the knot in 1973 Art adopted Linda’s son Mike then shortly after, they welcomed Mitch and Michelle into the world. Along with dancing till dawn, Linda and Art are known for packing up the car and setting out for long road trips. Using their, hard to fold, paper maps. They have traveled all the way North, South, East and West. Art was a lover of boats later in life and joined the Cataract Yacht Club. There he housed three boats and within no time at all, was named Commodore of the club. You could always catch Art and Linda every weekend sunning it up on the lake and gathering with great friends. He was also an avid camper, so much so that his children would ask, “Do we have to vacation at the camper again this year?" Art knew as his children grew older, they would appreciate the time spent at the lake.  Art was a great man that helped any one in need and expected nothing in return. He will be remembered for his kind heart, loyalty and fun personality. Let’s hope heaven serves rum and coke and has great music. He can dance the night away and watch us down here dancing for him.
