Ron was a gentle soul with a deep love of family and service to others.
Ron graduated from Ben Davis High School in 1965 and met Paula in 1975. Ron and Paula loved to travel and enjoyed 16 cruises to 36 countries. Ron’s favorite cruise was to Australia and New Zealand with Paula and Angela. Ron never forgot a birthday or anniversary. He loved getting and giving hugs and helping anyone he could. He was always patient, loving and kind to family and friends. He always loved animals and animals loved him. He has a special bond with Shadow, his 18-year-old dog. He owned the Pink Squirrel Donut shop at 38th and High School Road. He also had a health food store on the south side of Indy. He retired in 2012 from Noel-Smyser Engineering Corp as an Actinator Specialist.
Ron and Paula enjoyed spending time at their lake cabin in Putman County. In the last 20 years one of his favorite things to do was going to family parties every Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving at the Scott family homes.
He also loved to go to race day and Christmas parties at Gary and Susie Johnson’s house and Mike Currano house. He looked forward to these parties all year.
Ron had many hobbies which included collecting beer signs, wheat pennies, stamps, reel to reel tapes, CD’s and movies. Family and friends meant more to Ron than anything else in the world.
Please practice random acts of kindness in Ron’s memory or give a donation to the American Cancer Society. Per Ron’s request there will be no service and he will be buried next to his beloved mother. Ron would like to thank all the people that visited him in the hospital and all those that said prayers for him.
Remember this from Ron:
We are not all in the same boat. We are in the same storms. Some have yachts, some had canoes, some are drowning. Please just be king and help when you can.
We love you, Ron. Until we meet again!
