I owe Helene everything for helping me through the hardest years of my life. Helene was a beautiful woman inside and out. She loved life. Everyone who knew Helene is better for having known her. Her legacy lives on in all the lives she changed and her wonderful family. All my love to each of you Jay, Jack, Amy, Jeremy and Jeff.

To the Forcier family: I am so saddened to hear of Helene's passing. Helene was my high school English teacher way back in 1973-1974, and without a doubt one of my favorites. I have never forgotten her guidance and words of encouragement as I navigated my way through high school as one of very few Jewish students during that period---some extremely difficult years indeed. I'm so sorry for your loss. May you gain comfort from God's promise at Isaiah 25:8, where He assures us that He will put an end to suffering and death and wipe away our tears of sadness.
I have so many memories of my dear friend and colleague, Helene. First of all, she hired me at Greenway High School in 1975 and from her, I learned the power of team work. I was fortunate to teach with her in a school without walls where I could hear Helene expounding on American literature. She knew everything about it and I am forever grateful for her help. She loved her "babies" and would go out of her way to encourage and cajole and shame as needed. She consistently fought for what was best for kids and worked selflessly to teach those kids the power of doing for others. As principal at WHS, I loved having Helene on staff because she could be counted on to work tirelessly for students. She was a master storyteller: her stories always enhanced the real story!! I am so saddened by her loss. I know the family must have a multitude of memories to sustain them. Virginia Gibney

Helene and I team-taught for two years at Greenway High school, way back in the mid-70s. She was creative and inspiring, a very strong classroom presence. I am sad to hear of her death, but happy to take the time to remember her and our time together in the classroom. Blessings to all who are grieving.
