Obituary of Frances Yovanovich
Frances A. Milharcic Yovanovich (August 27, 1917-August 30, 2009). Fran went to her heavenly home peacefully in the early hours of August 30, 2009. She was born on August 27, 1917 to Matthew and Mary Milharcic. She was the sixth of ten children-Joe Milharcic, Mary Konovsek, Louis (Lefty), Amelia, Hedwig, Louise, Rudolph and Henry Milharcic. She was the sole survivor. On July 8, 1939, she married Alexander (Alex) Yovanovich who preceded her in death on March 6, 1993. They had been married for 54 years. Surviving are her children-Sue Ann, Alex H. (Nancy) Yovanovich, Debby Williams (John) and Denny (Cindy) Yovanovich, and cherished niece, Mary Frances (Bob) Mohr. She was the beloved grandmother of Alex F. (Andrea), Annette, Tim (Christine), Sarah (Chris) King, John E. Williams, Nicholas (Erin) Williams, Jeff Williams, Adam Yovanovich and Marc Yovanovich, and she was the great grandmother of Alexander, Sofia and Sienna Yovanovich. In addition she is survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Fran was a life-long member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She was active in the Altar Society , served as the CYO moderator, chaired several fundraising activities, and washed and ironed altar linens. She also served on the board of the Cathedral Mothers' Club for several years. She was a member of KSKJ, Slovenian Women's Union of America, Slovenian Cultural Society, Slovenian National Home and the American Fraternal Union. Visitation will be held at Stevens Mortuary, 5520 W 10th St, Indpls, on Thursday, September 3, 2009 from 4-7:30 pm, with the recitation of the rosary at 7:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Holy Trinity Catholic Church at 10:00 am on Friday, September 4. Father Kenneth Taylor will be the main celebrant. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery, next to her husband, Alex. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to any of the following organizations in Fran's name: Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Cathedral High School, Sisters of St. Francis, Oldenburg, IN or Westview Hospital.
