Mary Lee Tillis was born March 28th 1930 in Audubon Mississippi. Daughter of the late Henry Greene and Irene Washington Greene. Mary was the youngest of five children. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. She professed a hope in Christ and later served as a missionary , then became a mother of the church under the leadership of Pastor Morris Lee for over fifty years. She moved to Indianapolis, IN in the early 60's with family. She worked at Mechanics Laundry while studying to become a nurse. After becoming a nurse, she worked at several nursing homes and later retired at Community East Hospital. She was a devoted mother of eight children and later married Elder Virgil Tillis, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by three of her children , Mary, Johnny, and Diane. She leaves to cherish her memory: three sons and two daughters , Henry, Milton, Adel & Joyce (spouse), Catherine and Dorothy. Mary took pride in each generation of grandchildren. 27 Grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren and 40 great great grandchildren. She also leaves a host of nieces and nephews.
