Condolences
As one of the "charter" members at Westchester Swim Club I have the pleasure of knowing all of your family for a long time. Younger generations have not been able to enjoy the closeness and fun of a neighborhood like Westchester where there were always dozens of young people of about the same age to experience growing up together. I will always cherish the time spent in that place, and Bob and Donna shared with us a great family of young people. To Bob and to Bob, Mike, Kathy, Brian, Kevin, and Dan: I know that time passing will help some of the pain to subside to be replaced by wonderful memories of Donna. It was obvious that she was proud of the family she had raised. Please accept my sincerest sympathy and my best wishes to all of you.
Bobby My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Your Mom was such a special person. Take care Liz lalhand@hotmail.com
How very sorry we are about your loss. Donna was one of those special people who had a real knack of making people feel welcome. My first memory of Mrs. Allison was directly after a serious car accident at 79th and 421 that could have killed me and all 4 of my siblings (Denny, Don, Sparky and Lu). It was a late evening in 1965, I was dazed from the impact but managed to crawl out of the twisted, smoldering wreckage and found a spot on the curb to rest. Then from nowhere, an angel appeared from out of the darkness. Mrs. Allison and her trusty station wagon was the first to arrive on the scene. Seeing 5 frightened children, Mrs. Allison quickly assessed the situation, scooped up all of us kids, put us in the station wagon, and drove us home so our parents could take us for medical care. She was a blessing then and continued to be true friend and second mother to the Hill family. She will truly be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Allison and the entire Allison family. May God bless you all.
I lived in Westchester and ran around with Kathy.....I remember her mom always having an open door policy...you could go over any time with any problem and she always made time to talk to you or just let you talk and she would listen! Really made a difference in my childhood. Melody Dietz
Please accept our heartfelt sympathy at the loss of your wife and mother. Donna will always be remembered by us for her great smile and laugh. We have fond memories of her from parties at the grove, playing cards at the picnic table and cheering on all the kids. The Strandjord Family - Jan, Karl and Karen
I want to send my condolences to the entire family. Donna was a wonderful, loving person...she sure loved her family. I have fond memories of her and your family. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
I was soooo sorry to hear about the passing of Donna. I have been a friend of Marsha and Mike for many years. When I was a single mom, Donna always included me and my girls to family holiday events. I will always remember those good times. She will be missed. Love, Donna
My sympathy and prayers go out to your family. I live back in the area of your old neighborhood and often go by the house you all lived in in Westchester. Everytime I go by, I have wonderful thoughts of the entire Allison family. I always ask God to grant a blessing for your family each time I go by. I lost my mother a couple of years ago. It is a pain that never heals. Only time will distance the pain. "No matter how old we are, losing a mother is one of the deepest sorrows a heart can know, but her goodness, her caring and her wisdom live on... like a legacy of love that will always be with you. " Our prayers go out to your family. Scott and Marti Taylor and Family
Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. I'm sorry I can't come by and see you in person, but I'll be out of town. I didn't know your mom personally, but she raised some of the best swimmers in Westchester! Love especially to Bobby, Marsha M, and Kathy -- Kathy, I expect to see you at our reunion in August. Take care and God Bless You!
