Obituary of Edward P Kirk
Edward P. (Eddie) Kirk, 54, of Indianapolis passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2019. Eddie was born in Fort Sill, OK on May 2, 1965 to Donald Kirk and Adela Garcia. He moved to Indianapolis in 1967 where he attended Speedway Schools and graduated from Northwest High School in 1983.
As a kid, Eddie played pee wee football. As a young boy and into his adult life he enjoyed constructing model cars, trucks and collecting hot wheels.
In his later years of his high school career, Eddie found his love of music. He started a rock band called Ground Zero with his best friends Gary and Mike. Ground Zero was the start of many jam sessions in his parents basement on the weekends with many good friends.
Eddie later learned the skill of playing drums, guitar and keyboard. He always had a special love for the bass guitar. When he wasnt jamming with pals or working, he enjoyed camping and fishing. He loved football and was a huge Colts fan.
Eddie worked in construction as a machine operator with Reith Riley over 20 years and then with City Wide Paving until recently.
He spent his last few years with a new found love for cooking. He would have morning coffee with his mom several times a week. He also enjoyed frequent visits with his nieces and nephews.
Eddie was preceded in death by his father, Donald Kirk. Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Adela Garcia; grandmother, Rebecca McClung; sisters, Suzanna Kirk and Sheila (Antoin) Clifton; step-brother, Donald Simms; step-sister, Diandra Kirk; nephews, Christopher Bowers, Charles Garrett, Robert Anthony Jones and Justin Wilson; nieces, Kayla Wheat, Mariah Fletcher and India Fletcher; a host of great nieces and nephews ; his companion of 12 years, Valerie Bain; and his special friend of 25 years, TJ.
