Obituary of John Douglas Anderson Sr.
John Douglas Anderson Sr. "JD" was born July 7, 1940 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Walter Charles Anderson "CW" AND Bertha Mae Clardy Anderson. John Douglas Anderson Sr. "JD" was the oldest of sixteen children. He attended Arsenal Technical High School. John Douglas Anderson Sr. "JD" was a dedicated employee at Link Belt for over 32 years. He accepted Christ at an early age.
On Tuesday, May 23, 2023. John Douglas Anderson Sr. "JD" heard the voice and answered his call, joining those gone before him, at the generous age of 82 years old.
John Douglas Anderson Sr. "JD" met his beautiful wife Jackie Anderson in 1982 at a nightclub in Indianapolis, Indiana. They dated for 5 years and were married December 19, 1987. They have been married for 36 years and have shared a beautiful life of 41 years together.
John Douglas Anderson Sr. "JD" was a kind and gentle soul with a big booming voice, a contagious laugh and a beautiful smile. He left behind a legacy of being a man of pure heart. His memory will forever live on in the hearts and souls of his family and friends to which they will hold dearly.
John Douglas Anderson Sr. "JD" was a loving father to 5 children and 5 stepchildren. He was a member of the 38TH Street Men's Club. He enjoyed bowling and he loved his pig feet. His favorite passions were spending time with his family and friends, fishing, going to the casino, playing cards with his wife Jackie, dancing, lip-syncing (Barry White), barbecuing and playing games on his tablet.
John Douglas Anderson Sr. "JD" was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Charles Anderson "CW" and Bertha Mae Clardy Anderson. His son, John Douglas Anderson Jr., His stepson, Maurice Butts. His stepdaughter, Michelle Mason. His sisters, Lillian Washington, Bertha Bond, Evanna Wiggins, Phylis Anderson and Sandra Anderson. His brothers, Charles Anderson Jr., Dennis Anderson and Freddie Anderson.
John Douglas Anderson Sr. "JD" leaves to forever cherish his memories, his wife, Jackie
Anderson. His children - Tessie Bell, Kelly Foster
(Poochie), Charles Anderson (Debbie), Addie Gilliard. His step-children, James Mason Jr., Nicole Mason-Towler (Brian) and Lamont Mason. 16 Grandkids, 47 great grandkids, sisters, Lucille Smith, Aleach Anderson, Darlene Ayietta, Clementine (Rosce "Duck") Lee and Tommi Anderson; brother, Jimmie (Carla) Anderson and a host of nieces and nephews. John Douglas Anderson Sr. "JD" will be deeply missed by his family and friends and all who loved him.
