Obituary of William Hyslop
William Jr. Hyslop, age 96, passed away on December 9, 2023 in Indianapolis, Indiana after a brief illness. He was born on September 22, 1927 in Saginaw, Michigan where he grew up. He married Mary Louise Bradt on August 20, 1954. He is preceded in death by his only daughter Bethany Louise Nelson. He is survived by his wife Mary, his son William Brian Hyslop and daughter-in-law Susan Vrbsky, his son-in-law Brad Nelson, five grandchildren (Nathan,
Jared, Evan, Avery, and Austin) with their families, and 5 2/3 great-grandchildren.
William had an active mind and held a number of positions in manufacturing followed by a successful sales career that spanned decades. In his retirement, he combined those interests into a career as an inventor who patented and commercialized several products. He was working on yet another patent at the time of his death. He was an accomplished sportsman who enjoyed hunting, water skiing, bowling, table tennis, fast-pitch softball, and had a particular passion for golf and fishing. He enjoyed many of these activities with his family.
The funeral service is scheduled for noon on December 13, 2023 at Serenity Funeral and Cremation Services 6202 Michigan Rd Indianapolis IN 46268 with a memorial gathering from 10:00 until the time of service.
