Obituary of John Calvin Holiday Jr.
John Calvin Holiday Jr. was born on October 1, 1954, in Muncie, IN. He was the oldest child born to John Holiday Sr. and Mattie Wyatt. He was affectionately known as Doc Holiday. He was a talented musician who could play many different instruments including keyboards and percussions. He loved to play Jazz and gospel music. He was a devoted family man and big brother. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to his loved ones. John united with These Are They Non-denomination Church under Pastor Garry Merriweather. He was a part of the music staff. He enjoyed the traditional hymns and old-time gospel most. John Calvin Holiday Jr departed this earthly life on January 6, 2024, at the age of 69. He was preceded in death by his mother Mattie Wyatt, father John Holiday Sr., stepfather Robert Wyatt, and stepbrother Arik Rico Smith. He leaves to cherish his memory fianc Yvonne Culpepper, daughter Diana Edwards (Wayne), sisters Terri Johnson, Doris Minton-McNeill, Ethel (Candi) Gaines, Tiffanie Holiday, Cedra Smith, Lawanda White, brothers Shaun Holiday and Jonathan Taborn (Teri). He also leaves stepmother Portree Holiday, grandchildren Wayne Edwards, Destani Edwards, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
