Obituary of David Allen Pennington Sr.
David A. Pennington Sr., 76, of Avon passed away on January 10, 2024. He was born in Oak Hill, West Virgina to Russell H. and Freda M. Pennington on November 19, 1947. Dave attended Dublin High School in Dublin, Va, where he met his high school sweetheart, Janet Gregory. On November 15, 1965 just days before his 18th birthday, Dave and Janet got married. Together they have happily shared 58 years of marriage. Dave and Janet enjoyed spending time together at the casino slot machines. Dave loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his newly born great grandbabies. He was an automotive mechanic and race car builder and fabricator. He was an All-American Fisherman, Great White Deer Hunter and a Jack of All Trades “Master of Many”. He was always available to help and guide anyone to success. He always brought smiles to the faces of everyone he touched. Dave always had a positive outlook on life and wanted the best for everyone. He was preceded in death by his parents,Russell H. and Freda M. Pennington and brother, James Pennington. Dave is survived by his wife, Janet E. (Gregory) Pennington; daughter, Davida L. Brodnik; son, David A. Pennington Jr.; grandchildren, Ralph, Austin, Alyssa, Jessica and Jordan; great grandchildren, Kailynn, Kane, Austin Jr., Journi, Jasmine, Jada, Mya and Brynlee; sisters, Barbara Treichel and Francis Couch; nieces, June, Cheryl, Tammy and Jennifer; and nephews, Doug, Wayne, Chet, Jimmy, Jamie and Jeff.
