Obituary of John Daniel Serban

John Daniel Serban, 78, went to be with his Lord on June 22, 2023. John is survived by the love of his life, Diane Cones Serban; his sons, John Nicholas Serban, Daniel George Serban and Michael Joseph Serban, sisters;  Mary Pinkstaff and Donna Serban Laine, grandsons;  Ian Michael Serban, Leo Arthur Serban and Andrew Mathew Serban, daughters-in-“love”; Melissa  Serban,  Sarah Serban and Sandy Harp. He was preceded in death by daughter Christian Beth and infant triplets.

He graduated from Garfield High School in Terre Haute and joined the Marine Corp. John served as a body guard to the Orthodox chaplain in Viet Nam. He attended Indiana State University.  John founded and was president of The Concrete Surgeons, Inc. referred to as  “The Concrete Surgeon General” for almost 30 years.  John was appointed Honorary Consul for Romania to Indiana from 2001- present by the U.S. State Department. John was vice-president of Reach to Romania, Inc. for 23 years and board member of Mana Deschisa (Open Hand) Ministries in Romania. John and Diane celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in 2022. He was a member of Sts. Constantine and Elena Romanian Orthodox Church and part of the Legacy Bible Church family. 

John loved fishing, ballroom dancing, and his family and many friends.  His motto was “God first, family second and everything else after that.” To say John Serban will be missed is an understatement.
