Obituary of Timothy John Reeves
Timothy John Reeves (AKA Walker Texas Ranger), 64, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away on January 29, 2023 after a month’s struggle with pneumonia.
Timmy was born on August 19, 1958 to Allen and Betty Reeves in Indianapolis, he was the 7th child of 10. He was actively involved in the Scouting program through Cold Springs School, were he attended grade school. From Cold Springs he went on to participate in the programs at the Westside facility of Noble Industries. Tim then went on to work at Noble in the packaging department. Later he transitioned to a “cart getter” at Kroger and Meijer grocery stores.
Timmy had an infectious smile and attitude about everything in life. He loved participating in the Special Olympics program where he was a member of the Indianapolis Westside teams. He accumulated many medals of which you could usually see him wearing around his neck at any time.
He enjoyed spending time at Outside the Box where he attended interactive programs several times a week. He especially enjoyed the music therapy sessions where he wrote his own song ”Oh Baby, Baby” which race fans could hear Tim playing on his guitar and singing loudly every race day!
Timmy’s hero was Walker Texas Ranger, and those who knew him called him “Walker” per his request.
Timmy is preceded in death by his father, Allen Reeves, his sister Theresa Marie Hoopingarner Keck, and all his grandparents.
Timmy loved his large family and was always excited to spend time with all of them. He is survived by mother Betty Reeves; brothers Charles Reeves (Brenda), Robert Reeves (Patty Reeves), Michael Reeves (Shelley), and Stephen Reeves (Lisa); sisters Patricia Stephens (Denvil), Mary Jane Huber (Greg), Elizabeth Dininger (Dennis), and Alice MacGruder (Dennis); 33 Nieces and Nephews; 39 Great Nieces and Nephews; and 4 Great Great Nieces and Nephews.
Visitation to the family will be held on Sunday, February 5th from 2-5pm at Stevens Mortuary, 5520 West 10th Street, Indianapolis. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 6th at 1pm at St. Gabriel the Archangel Church with internment at St Joseph’s Cemetery, 2446 S. Meridian Street, Indianapolis.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Indianapolis Westside Special Olympics program Indiana.org S/O Indiana Marion County West.
