Condolences
Kristi, I just came across this. I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. You two were always so close. I know it's a huge loss in your life and must miss her dearly.
I remember visiting Joan with her nephew Andy Kayler. It was always a fun time when Andy’s grandma Mary, his Aunt Donna and Aunt Joan were all together. Lots of laughs and great memories. Rest easy Joan ❤️
I lived across the street and as us kids and Kristi all played we would spend time at her house. 40 years later and i still remember her and her love for all things Elvis. She was a rarity as a kid because unlike the rest of us kids whose parents seemed to never know where we were, Joan (as we knew her) watched and kept tabs on Kristi. She was an involved mother who loved her daughter deeply. To this day i chuckle a little whenever i hear an Elvis song. My condolences Kristi.
Kristi, I’ll always remember your mom. She was so supportive of you and all of us kids in the band. I admire and respect you for how you compassionately cared for her. She was very proud of you.
Kristi, sorry I cannot attend to give you a big hug! Moms are the best and life will be different. Surround yourself with memories and keep her in your heart!
I first met Mary Joan Tomey around 5 years ago. We met thru Ancestry DNA. We discovered we were 2nd cousins. I corresponded with her by phone, FaceTime and email. My biggest regret is that during all the years that I visited my grandparents, Clarence and Goldie Kayler in Indianapolis that I never got to meet her. Joan was only 3 years older than me and I think we would have enjoyed knowing each other. Unfortunately Covid and Joan's health kept us from meeting in person. I really enjoyed what time I had to spend with her. She seemed like such a sweet and caring person. Christine Smith
