I just heard about Fast Eddie's passing last night. I am so sorry to hear this. My condolences to Mrs. Swails and the rest of the family. He was a very nice man and had some great stories! Most of all, he was such a great friend to my father, especially while he was battling cancer the last year of his life. Fast Eddie was always there for him and I really appreciated that. I hope that you are up in heaven playing cards and telling stories with Pop, Foley and Doc. Rest in Peace, Fast Eddie.
Love,
Anne Rene Rincker
Daughter of Mike Rene
Surprised by Eddie’s passing. He is a man who you will remember. Ed was a hero who served his country in the military, his community as a fireman first responder, and his family as a dedicated husband who loved his wife and raised his children well. Rest in peace is my prayer, Eddie, you left a legacy.
Ed was one of our favorite people many years ago when he and Bob played softball together. And you, Mary Lou, were so good to me when I was expecting our first child and the other wives were telling their horrible delivery stories. You always seemed to know that I needed your calm support. I remember how Ed spoke so highly of you, once saying, "If I was in a bar and Mary Lou came in and said, 'Ed, get your *** home!', I'd fly right out of there!" You never spoke a bad word and Ed as well as Bob and I admired that about you. I was so impressed once when we were at your home and Ed showed us how he had hooked up a "remote" for your TV. It was on a cord, but he could control the TV from his chair! Of course, this was genius being it was in the early 60's. Bob is now in assisted living, so we won't be able to attend Ed's services, but please know you're in our hearts and prayers. We many not have seen each other for nearly 60 years, but you and Ed were unforgettable! (And labor and delivery weren't too bad -- we had ten children before our 15th wedding anniversary! Thanks for calming me.)
Know that you and yours are in our hearts and prayers at this difficult time. God bless you.
Fast Eddie was one of my favorite people. I met him through softball and enjoyed his storytelling and sense of humor. He later visited our school as a representative of The IFD and instructed our students about fire safety. His presence helped to make the world a better place. Elmer leaves a great legacy in his family and friends. My deepest condolences to all who knew “The Fast One.”
Rest in Peace,"Fast Eddie."
I've always treasured our friendship over the years and appreciated your encouragement and kind words during our Fast Pitch Softball days. We could always count on you to keep things loose with your wit and humor.
Lots of great memories. You will be a great addition to God's team on the Big Diamond in Heaven.
Love you, Man! Jerry Sare.
From the jokes you told, teasing me about shopping with Wee, your Halloween parties, trips to Salamonie, the family trips to Wisconsin & taking all your change for games, you stopping by my bus stop just to say, I love you (with snacks & candy) and so much more! Although you are no longer here, you'll always live on in my heart forever. You made my childhood unforgettable! Miss you already & I love you Paw.
Eddie, So sorry to hear about your Dad. Our condolences to you and your family.
I don’t have to tell you what a special man he was. He could make a laugh he could make you cry. He did well in life doing right by others. I remember him taking Gina and I to the Butler basketball games he took us to see fiddler on the roof. I spent the night at your house so often I felt like family rest in peace Elmer
I am so sorry for your loss! My thoughts and prayers go out and up for you, your mom, and siblings. Jennifer W

I'm going to miss you Paw, thank you for all the laughs and smiles. I will always be your girlfriend and you will always be my boyfriend. We will take good care of wee wee and raise hell up there...I love you!!❤
Was one great man. Love you Uncle Ed. Prayers of comfort, peace and strength for his family and friends.
