David V. Carpenter, 74, Speedway, passed away August 28, 2010. He was born May 1, 1936 to the late Grover and Marge Carpenter. He worked for GM Allison for 27 years. He was in the Marine Corps Reserve. David is survived by his wife, Betty (Childers) Carpenter; sons David Carpenter and Jeff (Vickie) Carpenter; daughter Mary (Brent) Piper; sister Joanne Bullock; and seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Richard and Fred Carpenter and sister Judy Aders. Visitation will be held Wed. Sept 1 from 1-2pm at Stevens Mortuary and Family Center, 5520 W. 10th St. Indpls, with a service at 2pm.
