Obituary of Florence Ardella Syester

Florence Ardella (Bische) Syester, 88, of Indianapolis, IN passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by loved ones. Florence was born in Huntingburg, IN to Walter J. and Olivia M. (Shepers) Bische. Florence was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending quality time with her family and friends; whether it was playing cards, board games, reading to her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Her hobbies included the Daily Crossword Puzzle that she always completed with a pen, sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening, going to yard sales and couponing. She loved her weekly poker with Charlie and his Angels (brother Charlie, sisters-in-law Ellie, Charlotte and Mina’. Florence was a Colts and Pacer Fan. She is preceded in death by her parents Walter Jacob and Olivia M. (Shepers) Bische; husband of over 40 years George W. Syester; sister Mary Ann Bische; and brother David Bische. Florence is survived by her children Kenneth W. (Sandy) Syester, Rebecca S. (Mike) Applegate, James L. (Sharon) Syester, Donna L. (John) Smith, Lisa A. (Mark) Brown, William M. (Christy) Syester; brother Charles F. (Eleanore) Bische; sister-in-law, Mina; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and her faithful cocker spaniel, Dexter Aloysius Brown. Many thanks to Glynnus for the precious, loving care and friendship she gave to Mom these last four years. She came as a friend and became Mom’s favorite daughter. A special thanks to Susan and Flori at Life’s Journey Hospice for the loving care of Mom and the support to our family.
