Obituary of David Lee Franklin
David Lee Franklin, 61, of Plainfield, IN passed away on January 15, 2022. He was a David was a graduate of Ben Davis High, School Class of 1978. There he attended vocational training in body work and auto repair. Whether he was beating on a fender or laying under a car, David was always so proud of his towing and body shop business. He was truly in the business of helping others and serving his community. You could always find Dave sitting in his office chair with a cup of coffee, his beloved dog Cooper and a phone in his hand ready to work. Dave owned and operated Dave Franklin Body Shop and Towing since 1984. Some of Dave’s hobbies included camping with his family at Camp David, in Poland, Indiana, where everyone was always welcome whether you were family, friends or neighbors. He had a strong love of all thing’s cars, racing, car shows and collecting them. Dave enjoyed weekend trips to the local flea markets with loving wife, Jan. Most of all Dave was proud to be known as Dad and Papaw. Dave’s family was his proudest accomplishment. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Betty Franklin. David is survived by his wife Jan Franklin; daughter Michelle Franklin; son Michael Franklin; stepchildren Jocelyn (Kyle) Copeland, Jameson Moore, Justin (Bristi) Moore and Jerad Moore; sister Debbie (Rick) Wedgeworth; brother Greg (Laura) Franklin; grandchildren Makayla, Riley, Myles, Reagan, Waylon, Maddy and Hunter.
A Celebration of Life will be held on February 5th from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at J & J Express Services 166 Williams Trace Plainfield, IN 46168
